The Little Veggie Patch Co. Swiss Chard "Rainbow"
Hardy, shade tolerant, spectacularly beautiful and can be grown all year round, Rainbow Chard should be a part of every veggie patch. Although technically an annual it can grow without fuss beyond 12 months, producing tender and sweet leaves that come in a full spectrum of colours
When to Plant
Zone 1: September–March
Zone 2: August–May

Zone 4: February–September
Soil
Prepare your soil with fresh manure and compost a fortnight before planting. Integrate organic matter to increase its water-holding ability.

Full sun, but will benefit from shading in warm weather, so plant next to larger plants, such as sweetcorn, or around onions and beetroot.
How to Plant
Sow seeds directly into the veggie patch.
Spacing 30–40 cm
Depth 0.5-1cm
Companion Plants: Herbs, Onion, Beetroot
Note: The Little Veggie Patch Co source all seeds locally and in small batches to ensure they remain at their maximum viability for germination
