Kontex towels are crafted in Imabari, Japan, since 1934. Using centuries-old techniques each towel is made from fine, garment-quality thread gently woven on traditional low-speed looms to achieve unparalleled softness, then washed in snowmelt from the slopes of Mt. Ishizuchi. The end result is a towel that’s incredibly absorbent and free from impurities - an ideal addition to any kitchen or bathroom.

Devine Towels
I bought two of these hand towels in Japan earlier this year. It seems that store doesn't offer online shopping (at all / from overseas / not sure) so I searched Australia for a local stockist. I hadn't heard of Simply Beautiful Things but, very hesitantly, I ordered two towels via their online service because the hand towels were so lovely, the desire outweighed the risk and the postage was cheaper than a flight down to Sydney. The service was fabulous, the email updates were reassuring, the final text from my post office confirming a parcel was waiting let me breathe.
These Japan-made towels come with a lovely history and they are a beautiful product. They are feather light, incredibly soft and absorbent, launder beautifully. If you prefer "thick & fluffy" these are not for you. They would be perfect for your 90yo grandma (anyone who might have lost strength) and definitely a beautiful item for your own home.
