Enamel is created by applying vitreous glass to steel and firing it at 850°C. An underglaze is fired onto the steel base, followed by a surface glaze that creates the final colour. This combines the strength of steel with the smooth, non-reactive surface of glass.

Each piece is glazed by hand, resulting in natural variations — slight unevenness in the glaze, visible underglaze, or small black spots from the high-temperature kiln. Hanging marks may appear on edges where the piece was suspended during firing, and the steel base may show through at cut edges where glazing is difficult to apply. These characteristics do not affect function.
